Wilhelm Sitzius – my tip

Pure delight: our Sitzius Prestige Noir. The delicate flavour of blackcurrants and a hint of ripe figs pamper the palate – a great wine with a promising future.

A passion to create something new

but without losing sight of the tried and tested

Wines that are simply fun to drink with every sip. Even if our wine mission is easy to describe – actually conforming to it year after year requires our full commitment as winegrowers. This involves relying on natural cultivation methods with low yields and growing in the ideal terroir for each variety with selective hand-picking and careful vinification.

… is quality …

Depending on the variety, we process our grapes in stainless steel tanks or barrique barrels. Our powerful Pinot wines mature in traditionally proven barrels made from native oak which give the wines their subtle vanilla flavour and rounded mellowness. Maturing the Riesling, Silvaner and Rivaner wines in neutral stainless steel tanks also ensures that the fruity flavour already present in the vineyard is fully retained in your wine glass.

… is indulgence.

Our motivation: Love of wine and the ambition to become just that little bit better. What did the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler say? “Tradition is not the worship of ashes but the preservation of fire.” That is how we see it too. That’s why we do not rest on our laurels but want to inspire you with every sip of our wine you take. Wines whose character resonates with the experience gained from 450 years of winegrowing tradition and our joy of winegrowing.
